Using Public Domain Materials As Your ‘Secret Weapon' in Article Writing

Perhaps the hardest thing about writing at all is the research that is required for your articles. Even if you are already an expert in your niche you will probably not just be able to sit down and start writing. For a start there are facts to be checked, statistics to obtain and perhaps both online and offline research to be done before you even think about writing.
To many, especially busy internet marketers, this is not a task to be relished and the task of doing article research is often put off for another day. When the reluctant marketer does finally get round to researching and writing an article or two then the task is considered so hateful that it may be a long time before another article is attempted.
Some marketers get round this problem by outsourcing – paying for a professional freelance writer to write articles for them – while others may like to do this but don't have the budget to do so.
There is also a ‘secret weapon' that some marketers use and that is making use of the works of others which have been placed in the public domain. Normally using vast chunks of someone else's work and claiming it as your own is considered stealing but with public domain works you can do exactly that.
You could find a public domain article in your niche, copy and paste it to your website and simply place your own name as the author if you wanted to. How simple is that? However because other marketers in your niche could do exactly the same you would be better advised to edit any public domain works to your own needs to make them unique to you.
There is a vast amount of difference between researching an article and editing an article; editing is much more fun and it is far easier than researching an article from scratch.
Obviously you will still need to ensure that the article is relevant to your niche and then feel free to edit to your heart's content. For example if the original article is far too long then you can make it into a series of shorter linked articles for your website or article directories.
It cannot be stressed too much that this technique can only be used with articles already in the public domain and not just any article that takes your fancy. To find suitable articles just search for ‘public domain articles' and your niche.
Note that this also works well for finding free images for your website or ezine as a lot of high quality pictures are also in the public domain. For example when researching this article I typed in ‘public domain kitten' into a search engine and found lots of images of cute kittens I could use free of charge for any purpose.
Not all internet marketers or website owners even know that there is such a lot of free public domain material out there but now that you do there really is no excuse for you to put off article writing any longer.
